STUDIO 330 is a great place to be creative! The whole studio is setup for maximum comfort so that "doing music" is a satisfying experience. The control room is spacious with large windows and lots of daylight (shades can change that in a second, if one prefers a darker work environment). Two recording rooms with good sight lines provide acoustic separation while maintaining a feeling of proximity and "connectedness". Our studio is set up by a musician and for musicians...
Dedicated studio kitchen, office, bathroom, loading ramp, and a private deck in backyard (complete with koi pond) round off the extraordinary setup that we can offer. We also have a guestroom for visiting artists and a multi-purpose space to be used as Studio B, or for special events and concerts.
• Recording music and voice over projects
STUDIO 330 has good sounding/air conditioned rooms, great equipment and "great ears", all of which are necessary in order to accomplish a successful recording project. Great gear alone will not give you good results- you will need experienced ears behind the board to get good sounding tracks. On the other hand, entry level recording equipment will not provide high quality results either. For that reason, the studio has a high quality mixture of preamps, monitor speakers, external processors, microphones, and software plugins. We combine high quality analog gear with great sounding plug-ins and work with a total recall digital board to avoid "in the box" mixing. We guarantee superb sound quality with our setup. • Mixing existing projects
Hans Christian has made a name for himself as a talented and seasoned mixer with an extensive national list of clients. High quality converters from MOTU and Cranesong do the actual D to A and A to D conversion, with some serious analog back end on the mix busses (Avalon, TK Audio, Neve, SPL, dbx). We use a Kurzweil KSP 8 effects processor for high quality plate verbs and other complex effects, in addition to a variety of other external and internal processors. Monitoring is accomplished with esoteric Geithain 903Ks- the best of German monitor design.
Some projects may benefit from a mix to analog tape. I have gotten great results using a OTARI MX5050 1/4" two track.
• Mastering
Lots of mastering of independent music projects is done at STUDIO 330. The aforementioned Geithain 903k speakers provide critical monitoring capabilities, and a variety of tools are available for mastering- both high quality plug-ins and analog tools. We provide industry-standard DDP 2.0 Master file sets, in addition to mp3s and Audio CDs. All Mastering projects are done long-distance with a quick turn around time and great results.
• Music composition for film and online media
Hans Christian has released 22 CDs (including six CDs with his group RASA) of original music and has garnered a world wide following for his distinct musicality. Recent applications of his music for film and TV included a Sundance Channel show called Rectify and a full length movie score for Call Of Life.
